Welcome! My name is Jodie (they/she), I'm an experienced Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) and Mental Health Counsellor, based in Naarm on unceded Wurundjeri and Bunurong lands (so-called Melbourne, Australia), I am an experienced and well-supervised psychotherapist and counsellor (ACA level 4) with counselling experience in drug & alcohol, family violence and homelessness sectors across both mainstream and queer community-led organisations. My clients regularly tell me that they appreciate my deep respect of their agency, which they then notice turn fosters a fantastic trust within themselves. I also regularly receive feedback about the accountability of my practice, improvements in sleep, feeling connected to others again - people often speak of my direct, yet very warm, approach to your goals. I am able to provide short and long term therapy (EMDR intensives or psychotherapy).

My passion and specialties lie in a compassionate & trauma-sensitive approach in collaboration alongside you. I am proudly LGBTIAQ+ and neurodivergent-affirming, fiercely sex-work positive & kink aware. I acknowledge that my experience locates from within a lens of whiteness, and further acknowledge that my culture and profession has caused great harm to People of the Global Majority - harms that continue to this day, and harms that I aim to mitigate and systemically undermine. The people I support have often experienced family violence and many of my clients are also neurodivergent. I regularly undertake trainings to support an intersectional feminist lens, and intentionally choose supervisors who are also neurodivergent and can support a culturally sensitive approach.

You're welcome to arrange a brief discussion to see if I'd be a good fit for you - I want to make sure that you are supported as best possible in your search for a new therapist. If my skills are not suited I may be able to provide you with some referral options via email.
